What Is The Scorned Wilderness Raid?
The Scorned Wilderness is a region added to RuneScape: Dragonwilds. It includes "The Hub", a new area where players can build, and a Raid area that does not permit building because of the big dragon.
A Raid is typically a high-end challenge pitched against a player or groups. You will be subjected to a gauntlet, delving into a dungeon, raiding a tomb, or charging into an Anima storm to take down a God-Eater. A raid includes unique mechanics or combat challenges that test your mettle and survival skills as you hold out against onslaughts of enemies, and every inch of ground gained is a victory in itself. Ultimately, you rise to the challenge and earn the right to challenge the boss.
The first Raid pits you, and your cadre of adventurer allies if you wish, against a landscape ripped apart by wild anima and the fury of Black Dragons. You traverse across floating islands, fighting through attacks by the God-Eater herself to reach her. Each of her tyrannical, terrible heads channels the fury of Gielinor's dragons, and she is more than the sum of her parts. Those who have slain countless Dragons on the Gielinor mainland will recognise some of her attacks, and she shares heritage with other Dragonkin experiments.
The Scorned Wilderness added a new end-game boss, Kuldra, the God-Eater, and a new enemy type: Black Dragons.
The Scorned Wilderness also added the quest Regicide.
The earlier Umbral Sands Major Update introduced a new form of Mount, the flying carpet, and a region inspired by the Kharidian Deserts of RuneScape. Within that region, the Kalphite Queen and her brood, Fuzan the Fire Dragon, and the Kot'Haar, sentient golems of Obsidian given life by an Elder Artefact, were introduced. The Nightmare Crucible was also added, allowing you to earn upgrade materials to power up your favourite weapons from lower Power Levels to max level to face Kuldra with the release of Scorned Wilderness. That region allows users to craft Adamant Armour, Red Dragonhide, and Infinity Robes, as well as additional vestiges including Obsidian Armour, the Obsidian shield, and the Fire Cape. The Skill Trees for Mining and Woodcutting were expanded with new Skill Spells and passive rewards, and more NPC traders were added for users to trade with.
In June 2025, the Magic Skill Tree was expanded and additional building pieces were added, including the Palisade Walls for protecting against Base Raids, which were rebalanced and tuned down based on player feedback.
