What a Base Is and Where to Put It
A base in RuneScape: Dragonwilds is your claimed home and base of operations in Ashenfall. When you are starting out, it is just a basic base of operations, and the recommended first builds are your crafting table first, then your campfire and your bed.
Location matters. Building near water is preferred because you need a constant supply of water for drinking, cooking, farming, and later on potion making.
It is generally best to build on high ground, since having the high ground gives you a combat advantage.
Put up defenses around your base as quickly as possible. Monster raids are a big part of Dragonwilds, so having at least a wall keeps your base from getting vandalized or destroyed.
The building system was also reworked so huge builds that previously took minutes to load now load much faster, which means no more long waits when teleporting back to your base.
Base Building FAQ
