Before You Head Out

  • Progress from spawning in Ashenfall through BrambleMead Valley to reach the Fractured Plains.
  • Enter the Fractured Plains, where your first objective is to find either a copper ore node or a tin ore node.
  • You don't actually need both ore types immediately, since mining one of them unlocks the furnace and the bronze bars.
  • The Fractured Plains, Stormtouch Highlands, and the Bloodblight Swamp are the regions in this stretch, and this route focuses only on the Fractured Plains.

Finding Tin Ore in the Fractured Plains

  1. Follow the progression path from Ashenfall through BrambleMead Valley until you reach the Fractured Plains.
  2. Once inside the Fractured Plains, search for a copper ore node or a tin ore node as your first objective.
  3. Spend a little time exploring and being safe, gathering as much copper and tin ore as you can before heading back to the base.
  4. The main farming targets in this region are the copper ore and tin ore, so kill plenty of wolves, sheep and deer for wool and leather as well.
  5. Before leaving the Fractured Plains, make sure you visit Velgar's Rise and speak to Cathan's ghost.

Using Tin Ore for Bronze Tools

Simply mining one of the ore nodes actually unlocks the furnace and the bronze bars.

Go ahead and build the furnace. You're also going to need some charcoal, which you can get from the kiln using any type of log.

This is going to give you access to the bronze pickaxe and the bronze logging axe. The bronze pickaxe makes gathering bronze a lot faster because you're going to need plenty of bronze bars in this area.

The bronze logging axe is going to help you to unlock oak trees, which is the next tier of bows and battle staffs.

You'll find these underneath the giant glowing trees underneath the Fractured Plains, and then you can go ahead and bring them back to your kiln to create the wild anima.

It's really good for crowd control, so while you're progressing naturally through the Fractured Plains, don't forget to keep expanding your base a little bit as well.

  • Mine a copper or tin ore node in the Fractured Plains to unlock the furnace and bronze bars.
  • Gather charcoal from the kiln using any type of log.
  • Build the furnace at your base.
  • Craft the bronze pickaxe to speed up gathering bronze bars.
  • Craft the bronze logging axe to unlock oak trees for the next tier of bows and battle staffs.
